Tired of meals punctuated by Twitter updates and Instagram photos, one restaurant has offered a solution to smartphone interrupted dinners. Based in Los Angeles, Eva offers a 5% discount off of the bill for all diners that opt to leave their devices at the front. Chef and owner Mark Gold says about half of diners take him up on his offer.

According to a survey by Telenav, one in three Americans would rather give up sex than their smart phone. 50% would rather give up chocolate, exercise and caffeine than be parted from their technological crutch for a week. Also a foul breathed 22% said they’d rather give up their toothbrush, while heavy Twitter users tend to have shorter relationships. Guess they’re spending too much time pressing the wrong buttons.
