THE NEWTOWN HOTEL IS OPEN

I am so excited about this. Newtown finally has a cool pub with atmosphere, views, cosy couches, great lighting and the all important verandah. I feel like I’m harking back to the Newtown of a hundred years ago and half expect to see trams and carriages below. Hello people watching.

Ground floor is the gorgeous tiled bar with booths and couches, plus video games and a beer garden.
Level 1, more seating, the fantastic verandah and a Greek inspired eatery called The Animal (could do with more vego options).
Level 2 is the yet to open cinema for up to 18 people.

NEW CADBURY BAR JUST FOR WOMEN

Aimed solely at women, the Crispello is the first new chocolate bar launched by Cadbury since the 1990s. With fewer calories and a resealable packet it’ll target ladies who are conscious of their waistlines.

cool small bar in redfern sydney

Dock is a totally awesome small bar on the main drag of Redfern who offer free popcorn with a dash of cool. I’d highly recommend their Martinis which were very generous. My only gripe is if you’re going to serve only two white wines (which I have no issue with) make sure one of them is dry. They only offered a Sav Blanc and a Sav Blanc blend, blurgh to both. One of those should be a Chardonnay or Pinot Gris or Grigio. Anyhoo, very worth checking out. Plus it’s right near the station so you can leave the car at home.
